BunkerDecoder
DayZ Morse Code Decoder
Every number in a DayZ Morse message is 5 tones, and a full message is 10 numbers (50 tones). Tap along with the signal, press the numbers, or paste the dots and dashes, and read the message as you go.
How bunker codes work
Every bunker message is 10 numbers (5 tones each, 50 tones in all):
- Numbers 1–3 are the first map coordinate, the one that runs left to right.
- Numbers 4–6 are the second map coordinate, the one that runs up and down.
- Numbers 7–10 are the code you punch into the bunker's pinpad.
⚠ Bunkers only have power from dark until dawn. You can always walk out, but once the power goes off you can't get back in, so get inside before then.

Tap timing tips
A short press is a dot and a long press is a dash. A press longer than twice the dot length counts as a dash. If your dots keep coming out as dashes, make the dot length longer. If dashes show up as dots, make it shorter. In numbers-only mode every 5 tones becomes a number for you, so you never have to time the pauses.
Know the number? Press it
How to use this
- Keyboard: 0 to 9 adds that whole number, . adds a dot, - adds a dash, Backspace undoes. These work anywhere on the page except the tap pad.
- In numbers-only mode a number completes by itself after 5 tones. Until then it shows faded with a dotted underline, and the chips show which numbers it could still become. Undo removes the last tone, or the whole last number once it's complete.
- Pasting works with dots and dashes, or • and –, with a space between numbers. A red ▯ means that group isn't a real number, so check for a miscounted tone. Untick numbers-only mode to decode letters too (then Space ends a letter and / or Enter ends a word).

Messages you save stay in this browser so they're here next time you visit. They aren't uploaded anywhere.
Make your own message
This part is separate from the bunker decoder above, so it works with every letter, number and punctuation mark. Type a message and play it back as a beep, a flashing light, or both, or copy the dots and dashes. Handy for signaling a friend, or just messing around.
Decode your own message
Not tied to bunkers. This one reads any Morse: letters, numbers and punctuation. Enter the dots and dashes, or paste a message in.
