HeatPackBandits Community Rules

These rules apply to all HeatPackBandits servers and our Discord community unless otherwise noted on a specific server's page.

Why We Have Rules

HeatPackBandits started because a handful of us — Drown, Tom, Norse, and myself — were tired of the same problem following us everywhere we played. Official servers had cheaters. We moved to community servers and found the same thing. We'd hop back to official hoping it'd be better, and it never was. The moment that finally pushed us to build our own server was waiting two weeks with no update on a support ticket about an obvious exploiter. We wanted a place where something could actually be done about it.

We wanted somewhere we could stream without stream snipers ruining our runs, or without chat turning into the kind of language that gets a channel banned from Twitch or YouTube. So we set up a Sakhal server just for us, and I started learning how to edit the map and build out the things Sakhal was missing.

The next year, I flew out to France and met up with Drown in his hometown. We talked about where we wanted to take things, and landed on an idea: instead of just running a community server, what if we built really well-made events — the kind of thing a ton of people could drop into for an afternoon and actually enjoy? Our first event had a great turnout. So did the second. Afterward, one of the participants asked if we had a community server too, because if our events were this good, our server "had to be awesome." I told her we technically had one, but had shifted our focus to events instead. She thought that was a shame, and said "well, if you ever make one, let me know. I want to play it!" and it stuck with me.

I kept coming back to what she said, and a couple of months later, RedPine was born. Since then, we've built a server — and a community — that a lot of people have genuinely enjoyed being part of.

What we're protecting hasn't changed since day one: a place where players can get lost in DayZ's story and atmosphere, where streamers can play without babysitting toxic chat or worrying about someone hijacking their run, and where nobody has to deal with bought exploits from someone who never even wanted to learn how the game works. The rules below exist to protect that — nothing more, nothing less.
