These rules apply to all HeatPackBandits servers and our Discord community unless otherwise noted on a specific server's page.
Why We Have Rules
HeatPackBandits started because a handful of us — Drown, Tom, Norse, and myself — were tired of the same problem following us everywhere we played. Official servers had cheaters. We moved to community servers and found the same thing. We'd hop back to official hoping it'd be better, and it never was. The moment that finally pushed us to build our own server was waiting two weeks with no update on a support ticket about an obvious exploiter. We wanted a place where something could actually be done about it.
We wanted somewhere we could stream without stream snipers ruining our runs, or without chat turning into the kind of language that gets a channel banned from Twitch or YouTube. So we set up a Sakhal server just for us, and I started learning how to edit the map and build out the things Sakhal was missing.
The next year, I flew out to France and met up with Drown in his hometown. We talked about where we wanted to take things, and landed on an idea: instead of just running a community server, what if we built really well-made events — the kind of thing a ton of people could drop into for an afternoon and actually enjoy? Our first event had a great turnout. So did the second. Afterward, one of the participants asked if we had a community server too, because if our events were this good, our server "had to be awesome." I told her we technically had one, but had shifted our focus to events instead. She thought that was a shame, and said "well, if you ever make one, let me know. I want to play it!" and it stuck with me.
I kept coming back to what she said, and a couple of months later, RedPine was born. Since then, we've built a server — and a community — that a lot of people have genuinely enjoyed being part of.
What we're protecting hasn't changed since day one: a place where players can get lost in DayZ's story and atmosphere, where streamers can play without babysitting toxic chat or worrying about someone hijacking their run, and where nobody has to deal with bought exploits from someone who never even wanted to learn how the game works. The rules below exist to protect that — nothing more, nothing less.
General Conduct
- Respect others — No harassment, racism, sexism, hate speech, or toxic behavior. We're all here to have fun.
- Hate speech is a hard line — This includes slurs and demeaning language targeting someone's race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability, whether aimed at a specific person or used generally. We're not policing casual profanity or banter — we're policing language that targets who someone is. Casual or off-hand use may get a warning; targeted harassment is an instant ban.
- Play fair & be considerate, keep the community friendly, and don't ruin the experience for others.
- Unique Names — Change your in-game name from "Survivor." Don't impersonate admins or other players. ▶ Watch how to rename your character
Discord Conduct
All rules on this page apply in Discord, not just in-game. A few Discord-specific notes:
- Mute your mic in busy channels — If you're in a voice channel with several people, be mindful of what's coming through your mic. Not everyone wants to hear your other conversations, calls, or background noise. When in doubt, mute.
- Streaming channels are extra sensitive — We have locked channels reserved for streamers. If you're in a streaming channel (or anywhere a stream might pick up your audio), be extra mindful — background noise, private conversations, and soundboards can end up live on someone's stream without them realizing it. Need help adjusting your microphone on Discord? ▶ Watch this guide on how to eliminate background noise.
- Streamer Mode — If you're streaming, turn on Discord's Streamer Mode. It suppresses soundboard and notification noise from affecting your stream. We'd appreciate everyone else being considerate of streamers' space as well.
- We genuinely appreciate members who look out for each other this way — it's a big part of why our Discord stays a good place to hang out.
Streamers & Content Creators
We're a streamer-forward community, and we want to keep it that way for both streamers and viewers.
- Stream Sniping — No stream sniping or relaying stream info. If you watch a streamer and then share information from their stream to influence play on the same server, you will receive an irreversible ban. No warnings.
- No in-server action while watching — If you are on the same server while also watching a streamer, you will be permanently banned. No warnings.
- Ask before joining a streamer — If you want to play with a streamer, ask first. Respect the streamer and the audience.
- Keep music out of in-game voice and proximity chat — Listening to music through your own headphones is totally fine, and so is blasting it as loud as you want outside the game. But playing it out loud over in-game voice or proximity chat means everyone around you hears it whether they want to or not — it's a bit like lighting up in a crowded room. Your taste in music might be great, but it's not everyone's, and it's not really something you get to decide for the people around you. On top of that, copyrighted music picked up by a streamer's mic can get them hit with takedowns or platform strikes through no fault of their own. First offense is typically a warning; repeated or deliberate violations will result in a temporary to permanant ban from the community, at the discretion of the admin.
- Use the streaming channels — Locked streaming channels exist for streamers to use. Please respect their purpose and don't treat them as general chat.
Cheating & Exploits
- No cheating — No hacks, scripts, macros, duping, glitching, tent stacking or exploits.
- No restart abuse — Don't use restarts to dodge death, reset loot, or escape raids.
- No loot cycling — Don't move or pick up items just to force new spawns.
RedPine Combat & PvP
- PvP is always allowed — Anywhere, anytime.
- No combat logging — Wait 10 minutes after PvP before logging out. If you disconnect accidentally, rejoin ASAP and inform an admin.
- No login abuse — Don't log in/out for unfair advantages. Avoid logging out inside high-tier zones (bunkers, Tisy, barracks, airfields, etc.).
- Fair raiding — Don't grief by despawning loot or destroying bases/vehicles just to troll.
- No indirect base griefing (loot entry ban) — Players may set traps outside a base. However, if those traps cause occupants to die, flee, or open gates, entering the base interior to take loot during non-raid hours is prohibited. You may loot bodies outside the perimeter, but not enter the defended interior until raid hours.
- No equipment destruction inside bases — You may shoot players inside their base, but intentionally destroying storage containers, tents, or vehicles during non-raid hours is griefing and will result in penalties.
RedPine Raid Times
Raiding is ONLY allowed on Raid Hours. Check the RedPine Details page for current raid hours.
- Raiding does not equal griefing — Don't grief by despawning loot or destroying loot/vehicles just to spite.
- No watchtower climbing — Don't build towers or use vehicles to vault over another group's walls.
- No exploiting access — Entering a base interior during non-raid hours is raiding and will be penalized.
RedPine Bases & Storage
- One base per group — No exceptions. Extra bases will be deleted.
- Unprotected loot stashes are OK.
Base Limits — Building a Standalone Base
- Max 3 layers of Gates/walls/doors/etc. leading to ALL loot.
- Max 40 Base Building parts total
- 1 stone fireplace
- Max of 3 survivors per territory
Building Rules
- Don't block or build inside key areas (military, medical, police, castles, gas stations, pumps, or roads).
- Build realistically — No floating bases, unsupported structures, stacked towers, or edge-of-map builds.
Garages & Vehicles
- One separate garage allowed (vehicles only, no loot).
- Max 2 vehicles per base — only one of each type.
- Any vehicles found stripped of parts will be destroyed.
Storage Limits
- Max 30 combined sea chests, crates, tents or barrels Across ALL BASES & STASHES on the server.
- Admins will delete any suspected extra stashes and return the loot to the loot pool.
- No underwater or glitched stashes.
Community Growth & Recruiting
- Ask before advertising — Want to promote another server, community, or event? Ask an admin for permission before posting. Approved posts only.
- No DMing members to recruit — Do not direct-message members of this community asking them to join another server, Discord, or event. If we get reports of this, we will tell you to knock it off. After that, instant ban.
Admin & Server Management
- Admin decisions are final — Disputes belong in Discord, not in-game chat.
- Reports — Screenshots or video evidence required.
- Ban evasion — Creating alt accounts to bypass a ban results in a permanent ban across all accounts involved.
- Doxxing — Sharing someone's real-life personal information (identity, address, workplace, etc.) without consent is a zero-tolerance permanent ban.
- Real money trading (RMT) — Buying or selling loot, bases, accounts, or in-game advantages for real money is prohibited.
- Appeals — Disagree with a ruling? Open a ticket in Discord. Admin decisions stand unless overturned through that process.
- Server wipes — Happen approximately every 2 months, with notice when possible.
